The Waynesburg University ACS Chapter is dedicated to bringing an increased appreciation of chemistry to both the campus and surrounding community. Our chapter does this through a series of programs including the Homeschool Labs, the Haunted Lab, and the Science Symposium Series (SSS). The Homeschool Labs are chapter-run chemistry labs that cater to local homeschooled middle and high school-aged students in the region. The Haunted Lab is a yearly event in which chapter members showcase Halloween themed chemistry demonstrations for children of all ages in the local community. The Science Symposium Series was initiated in 2016 to increase scientific professional development on campus. We partner collaborate with the Forensic Science Club and the American Medical Student Association to invite speakers come to campus and present. The SSS also provides students who have completed research or an internship a forum to present their findings.
