The Warriors Chemistry Club (WCC) is the American Chemical Society student chapter organization at California State University, Stanislaus. CSU Stanislaus is in the city of Turlock, located in the Central Valley of California. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for science-oriented students to become familiar with the discipline of chemistry. This is accomplished by providing information regarding recent advances in research, establishing relationships with STEM faculty members, developing a passion for chemistry, and connecting to the general community.<br/><br/>Our club strives towards sharing knowledge and making connections with the community in order to inspire pre-college students to pursue studies in chemistry. Therefore, we joined the STEM Ambassador Program at Stan State, whose mission is to develop leadership and team work skills and to help the community and to lead classroom activities for students in Title I schools. The WCC develops chemistry activities related to the theme of the National Chemistry Week and the Office of Service Learning at Stan State along with the STEM Ambassador Program provides logistical support with the School Districts. We recently received a <i>Community Interaction Grant</i> from the American Chemical Society, which will fund the development of more activities and outreach events. The WCC will present our work as part of the STEM Ambassador Program along with some of the activities that we have developed, and the general assessment of these activities. Our organization is full of hard working members, and through our collaborative efforts we were awarded the Outstanding Student Chapter Award by the ACS. We are proud students and chemists that will continue the work towards creating a connected community that helps each other towards success.
