Raman spectroscopy has become increasingly popular with the decreasing instrument cost and increased availability of the miniaturized device.  One technical challenging for a broader application of this technique is however, the difficulty in obtain reliable Raman spectra for samples in their given forms.  This can be due to poor analyte solubility in solutions, strong sample light scattering/absorption, and/or fluorescence interference by the analyte itself or sample impurities.  Demonstrated herein is a new Raman sampling technique that enables sequential multimodal power, solution, drop-dried, and surface-enhanced Raman spectral acquisition all conducted with the same miniscule amount of samples.  The general application of this new Raman sampling technique is shown with different categories of chemical compounds such as; sugar, proteins, fluorescent dyes, amino-acids, and different organic and inorganic compounds. Only a few classes of samples exhibited high quality Raman spectra with all sampling techniques.  However, for all samples at least one sampling technique give rise high quality Raman spectrum, enabling their chemical identification through library searching.
