Enzyme mimics are used to understand how enzymes catalyze reactions due to their tolerance to experimental conditions and their low production cost. Cyclodextrin’s hydrophobic cavity and ability to include small molecules makes it an excellent candidate for the formation of enzyme mimics. Anthranilic acid-derived N, N, O-terdentate ligands have the same N, N, O-coordination environment with iron as some natural enzymes, such as catechol dioxygenase. The stability of the host-guest complexes of alpha cyclodextrin and N, N, O-terdentate ligands were investigated using UV-Visible spectroscopy.
