We will present the synthesis and activity of a series of C1β-(aminoalkyl)carbapenems, including their activity against selected Gram-negative pathogens, pseudomonal PBP acylation/deacylation rates, and affinity toward the pseudomonal outer membrane porins OprD and OpdP. Additionally, we will characterize their unexpected relative stability to the NDM-1 and KPC-2 carbapenemases.
