The University of New England Chemistry Club, whose membership is comprised of freshmen through seniors with diverse academic backgrounds, strives to make chemistry fun and accessible to everyone on campus.  The group primarily focuses on three goals: (1) fostering a sense of community among those on campus with an interest in chemistry, (2) helping its members to become better prepared for their professional futures in chemistry and related fields, and (3) serving as Chemistry Ambassadors, promoting chemistry to peers and the community.  Our chapter participates in myriad outreach activities aimed at educating others on the benefits and advances made in Green Chemistry and hosts various ACS webinars on campus to further professional development and educate our members. Our club has become known on campus for our daily activities in celebration of National Chemistry Week.  We have also launched a project to make maple syrup from the trees on campus and explore the chemistry behind the local maple industry.  Fall apple picking and a holiday party have further created bonds within our group.  For our efforts, the UNE Chemistry Club was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter and earned the Green Chemistry Award for the 2016-2017 academic year.<br/>
