The discovery of cleaner and more efficient methods of synthesizing organic molecules with complex functional groups is in high demand due to concerns for the environment and cost of manufacturing. The introduction of microwave assisted organic synthesis (MAOS) has greatly improved the field of chemistry by reducing the amount solvents used and reaction time, leading to a more efficient synthesizing process. The syntheses of N-phenyl succinimide derivatives are fundamental in the manufacturing of various antimicrobial agents and pesticides; therefore, their applications to modern society are immense. This work is to explore the steric and electronic variabilities of aniline and 3-chloroaniline with the electrophiles: Citraconic, Itaconic, Acetic, and Benzoic Anhydrides.  The use of water and ethanol as the solvent in this research provides a cheap and environmentally friendly alternative to other hazardous solvents. The work was all performed using MAOS within a range of 3 – 10 minutes versus the 8 – 10 hours traditional methods require. Future work will involve the synthesis of more N-phenyl succinimide derivatives using MAOS along with the purification and identification of the products using flash column chromatography and H<sup>1</sup>-NMR.<br/>
