7-azaindole derivatives are biologically-active heterocycles. These structures have practical applications in areas of drug synthesis, chemistry, and healthcare. Molecules encompassing the 7-azaindole core structure are biologically active and have many applications including thrombin recognition and antimalarial properties. The synthesis is simple and occurs under ambient conditions. Electrophilic iodocyclization of 3-alkynylpyridines is used in the synthesis of azaindole derivatives. The synthesis produces yields as high as 82 percent and demonstrates a high tolerance for functionality at the second position. Using our new method, experts can achieve a noteworthy collection of valuable 7-azaindole derivatives presenting plenty of significant applications.<br/>
