Common to the isocarbostyril alkaloids, malabaricanes, and sesquiterpene tropolone class of natural products is their unique chemical complexity and potent anti-tumor activity. We will describe our recent efforts in synthesis of representative members of each class, namely pancratistatins, narciclasine, stelleferins, and epolones. Each synthetic approach features a myriad of lessons, from the discovery of new reaction processes to improved synthetic efficiencies that provide access to versatile building blocks and secondary metabolites.<br/>
