Singificant progress over the past several years on the fine tuning of micropores for the optimized sieving effects and immobilization of specific sites for the preferential binding of one gas molecule over another one within porous metal-organic frameworks has enabled us to target such porous materials for highly selective separation and/or purification of gas molecules. Some recent progress on porous metal-organic frameworks for separation/purification of C2H2/C2H4, C2H2/CO2, C2H4/C2H6 and C3H4/C3H6 will be presented.
