We describe the design and synthesis of a collection of rare-earth MOFs, including series of isoreticular MOFs featuring <b>pcu</b> topology.  We demonstrate strategies for adjusting the luminescence properties of a representative member of this MOF series [<b>MOF-1114(Yb)</b>] that exhibits near-infrared emission. This talk will highlight new design strategies for constructing tunable NIR-emitting MOFs and will focus on properties relevant to biological imaging applications.
