High stability of the enzyme-containing film and reproducibility in enzyme immobilization are crucial for enzyme-based biosensors. Several approaches of enzyme entrapment based on polymers have been reported over the years ranging from conductive polymers to electrodeposition paints.<br/>We recently demonstrated that (poly)benzoxazine is highly suitable for enzyme immobilization, in particular, for miniaturized biosensors, as the entrapment of enzymes can be achieved by electrodeposition, confining the film at the electroactive surface. Besides a macroscopic glucose biosensor based on a poly(benzoxazine) modified glassy carbon macroelectrode, also miniaturized biosensors for glucose and ATP were developed using poly(benzoxazine).<br/>In this contribution we present ATP microbiosensor based on the immobilization of glucose oxidase and hexokinase. Such miniaturized biosensors are highly interesting for determining ATP at living cells. First results on such cell measurements will be presented.
