A detailed mechanistic study of the three-component coupling for the synthesis of pyrroles from alkynes and diazenes is presented. To further understand this reaction a mixed Reaction Progress Kinetic Analysis/Variable Time Normalization Analysis experimental approach provides details into a complex mechanism containing half order in catalyst, inverse diazene dependence, and first or second order in alkyne. Linear free energy and Arrhenius plots give further insight into the reaction mechanism supported by computational analysis. These results provide a clearer and more accurate depiction of selectivity’s and provide insights to further develop this reaction.   <br/>
