The injection of sodium silicate into a less-dense transition metal sulfate solution is the well-documented “reverse chemical garden” reaction. This reaction has served as a model system in the field of chemobrionics. We present a novel analytic method for exploring this reaction, i.e., wavelet analysis of time sequence images of the precipitation reaction as it occurs. The effect of flow rate on this reaction is well-understood, but injection velocity remains unexamined. We present initial results of wavelet analysis of the reverse chemical garden reaction at varying injection velocities.
