Self-assembled ionogels with ionic liquid have been prepared and their ion transfer properties have been investigated. The imidazolium-based ionic liquid bearing ether-functionalized anion has been synthesized and mixed with Li salt to form the ionogels. The self-assembled ionogels have smectic-ordered liquid crystaline structure and at some composition showed near solid-like physical properties. Despite of the near solid-like physical properties, the prepared ionogels showed higher ionic conductivities than ionic liquid itself.
