Fluorinated organic compounds have applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and material sciences. As such, practical and selective fluorination methodologies are an important synthetic goal. Visible-light mediated photoredox catalysis has developed as powerful strategy for bond formation in organic synthesis. A novel strategy for C-F bond formation via photocatalysis has been developed.
