The 23rd annual Conference of Parties (COP 23) for the United Nations Frameworks Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was hosted by Fiji and held in Bonn, Germany from November 4-17, 2017. This year in particular, many people were interested in the dynamics that would result from vastly differing opinions on global climate issues, particularly after the decision for the United States to leave the Paris Agreement. During the conference, global perspectives on climate change were determined, as well as the impacts on the conversations and negotiations of the conference. Additionally, local perspectives on climate change were assessed in Maine after COP 23. This presentation aims to compare the local and global views on climate change issues as well as different proposed solutions.
