Building a program of undergraduate research at a PUI involves extensive engagement with students over a sustained period of time. My research laboratory is solely composed of undergraduate students and has a strong track record of active research focused on soft interfacial materials (see www.iona.edu/faculty/slee). Our research group is called "Project Symphony", which came from the idea that all of our group members work together in harmony to achieve what would appear to be dauntingly difficult if done individually. Currently, we have 18 undergraduate members in Project Symphony, who range in status from freshmen to senior, in various disciplines. This presentation will highlight the author's experience in fostering a successful undergraduate research program in chemistry with a large array of involved undergraduates, and showcase successful strategies for effectively establishing and maintaining an undergraduate research program.<br/>
