This year, the 23rd Conference of Parties (COP23) for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), took place in Bonn, Germany from November 6 to November 17, 2017. While being held in Germany, the conference itself was hosted by Fiji. The goal at this conference was to enforce and advance the agreements made by each country in the Paris Agreement and aid countries in vulnerable positions to participate in combating climate change. Fiji, being a developing state, was the perfect choice to host this conference, with the goal of helping as many countries as possible achieve their goals in climate action, with whatever resources may be available. With that in mind, renewable resources are key in reducing green house gas emmission, and while other countries have begun to make the necessary changes, the role of the United States is now in question. It has now become the role of individuals and companies to make the changes necessary to heal this planet. This presentions aims to discuss the implementation of renewable resources in developing countries, as well as the responsibility of the United States in assisting climate action.
