We have demonstrated that electrochemically-promoted catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation can be achieved in good chemical and optical yields by electrochemical reduction of chiral organorhodium complexes in the presence of certain prochiral substrates and a proton source.  In this presentation we will discuss details of the reaction and attempts to understand the mechanism of the reaction.
