Benzoxazines and polybenzoxazines established themselves solidly as a stand-alone discipline within the polymer arena. They count with a large number of sub-disciplines, evidencing their real multidisciplinary character. Polybenzoxazines are the youngest exponent in the field of thermoset and are hoarding up the center of attention in every subject. For instance, most of the natural properties of simple polybenzoxazines have already been demonstrated to be of great benefit toward most applications where thermosets are used, and in many cases even better than other polymers. However, there are a few of those natural properties making polybenzoxazines not yet the ideal choice, as for example the usually high polymerization temperature of the resins and the associated volatility of the monomers at elevated temperatures. Nevertheless, deep understanding of the key role played by benzoxazines, the building block of polybenzoxazines, as well as their chemistry let us easily design new and original chemical pathways to synthesize novel benzoxazines and benzoxazine-based systems capable of inducing programmable properties into the final polybenzoxazine-based materials. To achieve this goal in practice, we cleverly take advantage of the extraordinarily rich molecular design flexibility exhibited by benzoxazines, by doing first a retro-engineering analysis to know the properties we need into the final product, followed by the respective retrosynthetic study to determine the chemical structure of the needed building blocks required to then carried out the synthesis of our desired material bearing the programmed properties desired.<br/>
