Solid state chemistry is a field of chemistry that has been around for a long time. In the past 20 years this field has become more popular due to the demand to develop technologies which are smaller, faster, and more efficient than previous technologies. There are few current examples of labs that can be conducted, and many of those require expensive equipment and specialized instruments to conduct physical measurements on the products produced. This project is aimed at developing a solid state chemistry project which can be completed in two three hour lab sessions. This poster will discuss our experimental details and physical measurements that can be conducted during the course of two three hour lab periods.
