<br/>Harnessing the power of social media is a powerful way to reach students in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum. Currently in the United States, 59% of online adults ages 18-29 use Instagram. This type of social media provides a platform to engage students outside the classroom with short, meaningful questions that encourages them to think about chemistry and improve their problem solving skills. Four different Instagram accounts have been created in the fields of general, organic, inorganic, and biochemistry over the past 2 years. Preliminary data suggests that a large percentage of students in the course, as well as other students from around the world, utilize the site as a means to study for quizzes, exams, and for general chemistry interest. This poster will show sample questions from each of the Instagram accounts and data related to student usage.
