The ability to produce dyes that absorb and emit within the near-infrared (NIR) region is of value to the material science and biomedical fields. Boron difluoride chelates of the azadipyrromethene core structure (aza-BODIPYs) have received a recent resurgence of interest in the chemical literature due to their high photostability and tunability. This poster will present a synthesis of thiophene fused aza-BODIPYs as well as well as an evaluation of their photophysical properties.<br/>
