Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nTiO<sub>2</sub>) are found in a variety of household products ranging from sunscreen to cosmetics and even some foods. They are used as a whitening agent in many substances due to their presumed nontoxicity. In order to effectively analyze the concentration of titanium in an aqueous sample for further studies, a method needed to be developed and validated. The chosen technique was through the use of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy which can be used to quantify trace amounts of metals in a sample. A combination of standard addition and internal standards was used to create a calibration curve for determination of nanoparticle concentration. Upon completion of this study, a reproducible method of nTiO<sub>2</sub>quantification was established.
