Nanotechology is an area that much of the recent advancement we have today came from. This session will give teachers tools to use at their schools to introduce and add nanotechnology into their classrooms. It is a way to introduce modeling, scaling, and other parts of the NGSS into the classroom. Topics such as surface area to size, color of particles, and other properties will be looked at, explored through activities, and introduced. Teachers will also be given many labs ideas of how old lab favorites could be altered to be a nanotechnology lab as well as how some very common household items could be used for teaching this topic. These nanoscience experiments and activities can excite students about current research, as well as help them build stronger mental models about atoms. We'll cover successful nanoscience labs, as well as the nanoscience behind them. It will also give another area for students to research and read literary magazines about the topics at hand.
