Due to large application of engineered nanoparticles (ENPs) such as titanium dioxide nanoparticle (n-TiO2) in a variety of commercial products, there are concerns about the potential impacts of ENPs on environment because of their persistent and toxic. Particularly, 63-91% of ENPs end up in landfills, thus it is a inevitable situation that ENPs will be discarded into landfill sites. As a result, ENPs will be strongly influenced by surrounding landfill chemistries such as high ionic strength (IS) and various emerging organic contaminants (EOCs) that may increase the insights about the ENPs transformation in the environment. Because of limited information on ENPs aggregation in landfill environment, this study developed quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) using two MATLAB statistical models (fitlm for model 1 and stepwiselm for model 2) between n-TiO2 aggregation and properties of target EOCs in a relevant landfill environment.
