Anion photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) is a powerful technique for studying size-selected anionic clusters and their corresponding neutral species. The advantage of photoelectron imaging lies at its high resolution and detection efficiency while simultaneously yielding photoelectron angular distributions. In particular, this facilitates high sensitivity for slow electrons, allowing high resolution photoelectron spectra to be obtained. Using this technique, we have investigated iridium doped boron clusters. We have been able to determine the structure of IrB<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> by combining the photoelectron imaging technique with the magnetic-bottle photoelectron spectrometer and quantum chemical calculations.
