Exciton dynamics studied via ultrafast pulsed laser techniques display transient dynamics characterized by coherences, whereas natural processes occur via excitation with stationary incoherent (e.g.solar) radiation, leading to a dramatically different, time-independent, response. We discuss these differences and introduce a new approach to determining steady state rates under natural incoherent illumination.
