Secondary amine catalysts are ubiquitous in organocatalysis for the activation of enals, their heterogenization offers advantages in term of recyclability, reduction of costs and environmental impact. Pursuing this objective, various organocatalysts were designed and heterogenized on silica supports to catalyze Michael addition/cascade reactions, among which the cyclopropanation of enals with bromomalonates. Modified pyrrolidine organocatalysts were synthesized, changing the anchoring position or the substituents on the bulky group of the pyrrolidine moiety. The designed organocatalysts were covalently anchored on silica supports. Moderate yields and various degree of recyclability were obtained, based on the different organocatalyst used.
