Our societal ever-increasing amount of data that must be handled leads to the emergence of new information processing technologies and devices. A recent new area of computing is relying on the use of ultrafast lasers for coherent energy (information) transfer in multi-chromophoric systems. Indeed, the dynamic response of nanosystems such as Quantum Dots (QD) in solution or in arrays to short femtosecond laser pulses stimuli can be exploited to generate ultrafast parallel information processing at room temperature.<br/>To implement such a challenging outcome, a complete description and understanding of the nanosystems electronic properties (excited states, excitons, size and environment effects) and its response to femtosecond laser pulses is crucial.<br/>This problematic has been tackled by building a model of arrays of CdSe quantum dots with electronic properties described in the framework of the Effective Mass Approximation (EMA) allowing us to obtain i) the electronic energy levels of CdSe quantum dots ii) the multiple exciton couplings between neighboring dots, considering Forster energy transfer and charge transfer. Our approach provides a description that takes into account both the QD radius and QD-QD distance dependencies on the features of the excitons and their couplings in arrays, as well as the size dispersion.<br/>Moreover by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation we evaluated the dynamics of the exciton coherence in CdSe QD dimers and its role in the energy transfer. This will in the future enable the physical realization and tuning of devices for information processing at the molecular scale.
