A mild and one pot procedure to produce 1,3-rearranged allylic alcohols from α,β- unsaturated ketones in moderate yields is described in this work. The tertiary allylic formed as an intermediate from, a 1,2 addition of a organolithium spices to an α,β-unsaturated ketone, undergoes a 1,3-OH migration assisted by FeCl<sub>2</sub> to give the desired product via the formation of an iron oxo species.
