Despite modern antibiotics, some bacteria like <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i> (<i>S. aureus</i>) continue to display antibiotic resistance. It is theorized that S. aureus avoids death via host cell invasion. RSM molecules are substituted pyrazolines synthesized in our lab and biologically evaluated for their efficacy in preventing bacterial host cell invasion. The compounds also undergo testing for cytotoxicity and to determine whether they are bactericidal.
