Dry reforming of methane (DRM) is a promising approach for carbon dioxide utilization and syngas generation. The key challenge of this reaction to be commercialized is the poor stability of Ni-based catalysts. In this study, a novel structure catalyst with Ni nanoparticles highly dispersed in silicalite-2 Zeolite (S-2) was designed and synthesized via a micro-emulsion method followed by solvent-free route. The synthesis strategy is depicted in Figure A. Compared with Ni-SiO<sub>2</sub> catalyst without crystallization step and Ni loading on S-2 by impregnation method, the Ni@S-2 catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability at a large gas hourly space velocity value. Conformed by TEM and H<sub>2</sub>-TPR results, the smaller Ni particles and stronger metal-support interaction were considered as the main reasons for superb catalytic performances.
