Inorganic lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs), especially CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I), have attracted wide interests due to their outstanding photoluminescence properties. However, their practical applications were limited due to the toxicity of lead and poor stabilities. Many researches were focused on developing lead-free PNCs (e.g. Sn-base and Bi-base PNCs). In particular, Cs3Bi2X9 (X = Cl, Br, I) PNCs were synthesized with an improved photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and water-stability. Yet the family of lead-free PNCs was still few members which is needed to be enriched. For the first time, a series of alkalis bismuth halide PNCs A3Bi2Cl9 (A = K, Na, Rb) have been reported by an optimized ligand-assisted reprecipitation (LARP) method using non-coordinated solvent and low-toxic dispersant. The photoluminescence peaks of these PNCs (ranged from 442 to 448nm) could be tuned by different alkali metal for the size of A-site cation could only expand or contract the perovskite lattice, causing a slightly change in band-gap. The as-synthesized PNCs, particularly K3Bi2Cl9, had the comparable PLQY with that of the reported CsPbCl3 PNCs, while exhibited high photo-, water- and thermal-stability. In this work, we synthesized a series of lead-free PNCs, which contain more human-friendly and cheaper elements (K or Na) which might potentially be applied as bio-imagining material.
