Organic solid state solar devices are now seriously being considered for particular applications.  While great improvements have been made in regards to the efficiencies of organic solar cells there is still a great issue related to their structural and electronic inhomogeneity which limits their device performance. In order to better understand the local transport dynamics in these systems there is a great need to probe transport processes in the condensed phase and to follow the energy transport dynamics with fast time resolution and high spatial resolution.  In this talk, the use of femtosecond pulse-sequence near field optical microscopy will be discussed in regards to its connection in monitoring fast energy migration processes at the nanoscale in the solid state.  Specifically, by utilizing phase locked femtosecond light pulses in a two-photon regime we have investigated the fast energy transport in BHJ (Bulk heterojunction) film consisting of PTB7 (Poly[[4,8-bis[(2-ethylhexyl)oxy]benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene-2,6-diyl][3-fluoro-2-[(2 ethylhexyl)carbonyl]thieno[3,4-b]thiophenediyl]]) as a donor and   DPDI (Dimeric perylene diimide) as a non-fullerene acceptor as well as in the neat film of DPDI.  The results of these experiments and their correlation with the possibility of a coherent energy transfer process in organic solar cells in the solid state will be discussed.  <br/>
