<br/><br/>Electronically-transduced chemical sensors have the potential to enhance healthcare through improved understanding of human behavior, assessment of stress, early diagnosis, and treatment of disorders. Electrochemically active and conductive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) constitute an emerging class of multifunctional sensing materials with remarkable properties that can help address global challenges in healthcare. This presentation will describe the integration and performance of conductive MOFs as sensing materials in portable gas sensors, as ion-to-electron transducers in potentiometric detection of ions, and as porous electrodes for voltammetric detection of neurochemicals. Bolstered by fundamental spectroscopic analysis of MOF-analyte interactions, this presentation will highlight the broad potential of conductive MOFs as versatile and integral components within portable electroanalytical devices.
