The Chemistry Department at Central Connecticut State University requires students in General Chemistry labs to write a formal report that reflects aspects of the format found in the chemistry literature, a process that students tend to find challenging, and so a variety of resources are made available to them, such as information in the lab manual and course outlines, tutorial sessions and additional help provided in various forms by specific instructors. Students in my Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 classes were surveyed to rate the helpfulness of 21 resources made available to them as they write their laboratory reports. This presentation will focus on the results for Spring 2018 with some reference to those from Fall 2017.
