Clostridium difficile is a Gram-positive pathogenic anaerobe that has become a prime health concern worldwide in recent years. GLS362E, a compound that has shown highly selective anti-bacterial activity against C. diff, is a N7-substituted guanine derivative. This project focused on the synthesis, activity and the toxicity profile of the metabolite of GLS362E to enrich the preclinical package.
