Triphenylamine based materials are gaining importance in applied organic materials. We report on the synthesis and single crystal solid state structures of a series of triphenylamine molecules endowed with various electron donor and acceptor groups. We specifically focus on dicyanovinyl- and tricyanovinyl groups. The impact on the observed structures as well as on absorption and fluorescence behavior of these structurally related molecules will also be presented. Finally, we will report on calculated (DFT- level) and observed structural parameters in these materials.
