Pincer ligands are attractive because of their ability to impart remarkable stabilities to a metal center and provide a well-defined coordination sphere. Also, their electronic and steric properties are relatively easy to manipulate. Many unique reactions have been explored by utilizing metal complexes supported by pincer ligands. Therefore, we are interested in designing and synthesizing new pincer ligands and their metal complexes. In this poster, the synthesis and characterization of a series of LXL-type pincer ligands and their group 9 metal complexes will be presented.
