As Val Kuck's colleague for over 40 years in ACS activities, I have had an opportunity to observe many activities and participate in a few.  She has not only gained skills of success for herself but also become a mentor for others.   Some of the situations we will visit include committee activities, major activities such as SciMix and Cold Fusion programs, fighting bias and expansion of activities upon retirement.<br/>
