Organic thermoelectric materials are emerging as novel energy conversion candidate for flexible electricity generator or heat-cooling devices due to relative high Seebeck coefficient and intrinsic low thermal conductivity. Recently, thanks to rapid progress of material modification and in-depth understanding of material doping, the figure of merit (ZT) has reached about 0.42 for p type material and 0.21 for n type counterpart at room temperature, which provide an opportunity to show the power generation ability of thermoelectric device. The model organic thermoelectric generator has been shown by Fuji film and Crispin group. However, Peltier effect in organic thermoelectric material, inverse process of Seebeck effect, is not studied yet. As one of important thermoelectric phenomenon, Peltier devices are potential solutions for on-chip cooling or site-specific temperature control as their condensed structure and fast response ability. Herein, we fabricated lateral thin film Peltier device based on organic thermoelectric material Poly(Ni-ett) and directly detected the temperature difference between two electrodes. Besides, transient measurement fully reveals the temperature evolution across the whole device. Our result announces that organic thermoelectric materials are promising candidate for solid-state cooling application in the future with the aids of material modification and device engineering.
