Over the past five years, Green Chemistry initiatives led by graduate students have been emerging at institutions throughout the world. This presentation showcases the motivation, challenges, planning and impact associated with the founding and managing of the New England Scientists and Teachers for Sustainability (NESTS) Green Chemistry Initiative. The Network of Early-career Sustainable Scientists & Engineers (NESSE) is a global movement of academic researchers and young professionals at the beginning of their careers working on or interested in solutions to today’s most pressing sustainability challenges. NESSE aims to bridge the gap between disciplines and to generate future science leaders with skills and knowledge to develop sustainable technologies. NESSE builds a community where researchers and professionals exchange knowledge and resources, collaborate around global challenges, and connect the dots with broader sustainability approaches. We will outline NESSE’s activities to work towards our vision of a prosperous and sustainable future for all, facilitated by collaborative and green approaches to science and technology. The International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) began as a task force at the 2015 ACS National Meeting in Boston between a group of young chemists from the US, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe, with the ultimate goal of creating a truly unified international network for young chemists to connect. Successful efforts led to the official launch of IYCN as an associated organisation of IUPAC in 2017. We are a global network working to establish a platform that fosters communication, mentorship, and collaboration between our members. Our vision is focused on empowering our young chemist members to lead positive change worldwide.<br/>IYCN has been active in the chemistry arena, holding a student exchange with Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh) in 2017, sponsoring a poster award at the annual symposium of the ACS Nigeria Student chapter, and organising a green chemistry symposium at IUPAC 2017 to name a few examples. One of our main initiatives is the publication of experiments, which are designed to be performed with non-specialised equipment and translated into multiple languages. We are also developing online webinars, building a calendar of conference activities, and planning more student exchanges between countries. We will discuss our current progress towards these goals and provide more detailed information about IYCN.
