Bimetallic catalysts often display enhanced reactivity over their separate components, including ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and ring-opening co-polymerization (ROCOP) reactions. Many of these catalysts are rigidly-linked symmetric frameworks, which are often difficult to a different metal-combinations (including heterobimetallic variants). In this poster, we share our recent results on the synthesis and characterization of xylyl-linked multi-functional beta-diketiminate frameworks, which support a wide-range of mono-, homobi-, and hetero-bimetallic complexes of zinc and rare-earth cations. Reactivity studies of these catalysts in ring-opening polymerizations will be shared, and insight into bimetallic cooperativity and catalytic activity discussed.
