In recent years, researchers at IBM have developed new materials that are both functional and, in some cases, capable of being recycled. In particular, new classes of polymers including poly(hexahydrotriazine)s (PHTs) and fluorinated poly(aryl thioether)s have been discovered at IBM utilizing facile synthetic processes. This seminar will highlight the synergy between experimentalists and computational chemists in the discovery and development of these materials.
