In this work, we explore the potential of starch nanocrystals grafted lactic acid (SNCs-g-LA) nanoparticles as a nucleating agent and study its rate in the phase transition and crystallization behaviour of PLA. For this, the variation in concentration of SNCs-g-LA nanoparticles in the PLA matrix was studied at various isothermal crystallization temperatures ( 80-135 ). The results indicate that, the SNCs-g-LA nanoparticles concentration levels influenced not only the crystal transitions temperature ( ) but also the degree of transition from to crystal structure of PLA. It was found that phase seems to be more preferable in PLA nanocomposites than phase in neat PLA. Therefore resulting in an obvious shift in of the phase toward lower compared to neat PLA. The shifting of is considerable as 5 wt% of SNCs-g-LA nanoparticles were added. In addition, it was found that the crystal structure of crystal was affected by addition SNCs-g-LA nanoparticles and result in more perfect crystal structure at above of PLA.
