The recent development of mechanical-chemical strategies in organic synthesis has allowed access to new more environmentally sustainable strategies to prepare organic molecules. In this respect, our contribution broadens the possible scenarios to diverse challenging transformations, including a well-known classical transposition reaction, never studied before via a ball-milling approach. However, the main limitation of synthetic mechanochemistry using standard ball mills is the low throughput. The development of advanced mechanochemical devices using multiposition jars, allows the processing of hundreds of samples per day, enabling the rapid investigation of several experimental parameters at the same time and increasing the throughput compared to standard milling devices. The application of ‘parallel mechanochemistry’ is also illustrated for the preparation of a special class of heterocycles with green synthetic protocols opening new opportunities in drug discovery.
