Manganese oxides are very important materials for electrochemical applications in capacitors and batteries. In the current work manganese oxide nanoparticles were effectively synthesized by utilizing soft template (micro-emulsion) and hydrothermal process. Various oil phases i.e. cyclohexane, iso-octane, n-hexane, amyl alcohol and n-octanol, were utilized with TX-100 surfactant in water to make micro-emulsion. Hydrochloric acid (HCl) was utilized to reduce KMnO<sub>4</sub> in the micro-emulsion under solvothermal conditions. Synthesized manganese oxides were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscopes SEM and TEM, BET surface area and elemental analysis by energy dispersive X-rays (EDX) methods. The electrochemical behavior of synthesized materials has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetery. The results of characterization and electrochemical studies are under investigation and will be shared in the conference.<br/>
