Azo dyes is an important class of compounds used to color fabrics. Due to their vivid colors they used in textile industries to color fibers. Azo dyes used in making candy, ice cream, and beverages. There are used in cosmetics as well. Some azo dyes possess anti biotic, anticancer activities and they find application in thermodynamic therapy. Azo dyes have side effects such as carcinogenic mutagenic properties. Synthesis of functionalized azo dyes conjugated with other molecules with useful functional group or can add new features like smell or functional handles that allow for processing or further transformation is in demand. This work focusses on conjugating variety of azo dyes to vanillin to enhance their properties and create new applications. We reporting the synthesis and characterization of vanillin azo dyes conjugates. The structural confirmation and application in anion sensing to develop selective cyanide and other significant analytes sensors. The spectroscopic data, colorimetric, UV-Vis titrations as well as binding constants will be reported.
